A record-breaking firework ball explodes over Zurrieq, Malta

A record-breaking petard, known as the ‘ballun tal-blalen‘, was exploded over the southern village… The 260kg petard was 2.97 metres wide and was created by Manwel Gauci from the Santa Katarina V.M. fireworks club of Zurrieq.

That’s 573lbs and 9.75 feet in Imperial units. (Related: Why the Metric System Matters.) The surprising firework happens as a big finish, and it may be bigger than you’re thinking, but be sure to enjoy the entire vid. Via LovinMalta, a drone video was also captured by Koala Media’s Roberto Sarcia:
