In celebration of the annual Harlem Week festival and African-American Day Parade in the summer of 2020, The Dance Theatre of Harlem danced across the famous neighborhood to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
The subway platform at 145th Street and St. Nicholas Subway Station, the neo-Gothic buildings of The City College of New York, Riverbank Statepark, and the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building all provide vibrant backdrops for the choreography by Robert Garland.
The piece by Bach is Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041 – III. Allegro assai.
