How It’s Made: Rubber Balls

How are rubber balls like basketballs made? In this How It’s Made video from the Science Channel, factory workers create an inflatable rubber bladder that’s shaped into a sphere. It’s coated with nylon thread and covered with another layer of rubber strips. The balls are then heated, branded, and decorated to look like traditional basketballs.

Other rubber balls, like volleyballs and medicine balls, are created similarly, but with different shapes, colors, and textures.

Next, see how other kinds of balls are made, including tennis balls, table tennis balls, footballs, cricket balls, and scrap soccer balls for village children.
