With an x-acto knife or scissors, a cutting mat or ruler, a ziplock bag, and two rolls of duct tape—pick two colors you like—you can create your own DIY Duct Tape Coin Pouch in less than 10 minutes. Sally shows us how in this chill and charming instructional video by Yo Gabba Gabba alum Joel Fox, with music and sound design by Wilco keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen.
The key to this useful project is building the pouch around the ziplock’s interlocking grooves, which helps keep “the coins in and the dust out. Even if you have dusty pockets.” Switch up your pouch by changing the length of the bag’s press-and-seal parts or the dimensions of the pouch itself.Next, watch Megan Geckler’s rainbow tape installations, Tape Paris, and Which is stronger: Glue or tape? Plus, more DIY projects, including: How to screen print, How to Make a Navigational Chart, DIY Lava Lamp & Rubber Band Cannons, and how to make puppets with Jim Henson (1969).
