The Kid Should See This

If You Fall, an animated short about taking risks

A cautious eight-year-old Lila struggles to find her balance while riding her bicycle in this endearing, brightly-coloured animation about family love and support.

If You Fall was written and directed by Vancouver-based animation designer Tisha Deb Pillai. A story about taking risks and “giving the daunting task a try,” the short is influenced by her own childhood in a familly in which her mother worked and her father was the primary caregiver.

Next: Détour, an iPhone film by Michel Gondry. Plus: More families, more mothers, more fathers, and more bicycles.

This Webby award-winning video collection exists to help teachers, librarians, and families spark kid wonder and curiosity. TKSST features smarter, more meaningful content than what's usually served up by YouTube's algorithms, and amplifies the creators who make that content.
