Pangraph v4: Making Spirocakes (Spirograph Pancakes)

Nathan Shields has been working on making spirograph pancakes for over a month. From his workshop to his kitchen, he’s done the math, designed templates, made gear teeth on a bandsaw, tried out different materials, and failed at making structurally sound pancakes more than once, only to return with improved solutions:

He also tried out a Pancake Pendulum, which had its own set of challenges:

We love fun ideas that involve the kiddos, but more importantly, we love seeing failed attempts and the new ideas they inspire. File under: tenacity.

In the archives: PancakeBot and a DIY Mathematically Correct Breakfast.
