When in nature, Russian hamsters can cover ten kilometers (6.2 miles) a night. As pets, they’re quite drawn to a hamster wheel. In this giggle-worthy clip from the BBC’s Pets: Wild At Heart, not one but two Russian hamsters run a mini-marathon on their hamster wheel. They are fast—600 strides per minute—and they seem to be pretty competitive.
Come for the speedy spinning and stay for the airborne rodents!
They’re also pretty adorable. The video above wins gold. Bonus points for the moving x-ray and slow-motion running footage.
