Round is a live-action collection film from the second episode of Sesame Street, which aired in November of 1969. Wheels, manhole covers, marbles, coins, bubbles, buttons, frisbees, metal balls from a Newton’s Cradle, and other circles from everyday life are featured, all set to an upbeat composition from the era.
This idea makes an excellent DIY film project for class or at home (or both at the same time). Use any shape, letter, number, action, or theme that you can find in everyday life. Film them all and edit them together. Watch a few collection films by The Mercadantes for additional inspiration.
Then watch more classic Sesame Street films, including:
• Shape Organization
• 30 Dots
• Three striped balls and a polka dot ball (1976)
• Changing Shapes
