The Kid Should See This

Spending time with two hand-raised orphan hippos

Hippo orphans Emma and Molly have been hand-raised by their caregiver Petronel Nieuwoudt, who specializes in caring for orphan rhinos at Care for Wild Africa in Mpumalanga, South Africa, the nonprofit sanctuary that she founded in 2001. In this BBC Earth video, she talks about the long process of introducing them back into the wild.

Next, watch baby hippo Fiona’s never-before-seen moments, a baby pygmy hippo swimming with its mum, and a hippo getting its teeth brushed.
