Imagine a world where kids push adults on the swings, where mom and dad fall asleep in strollers that kids have to shove up hills, and where grownups are coaxed into the pool by their child, waiting to catch them with arms open.
Bristol-based animators Hend Esmat and Lamiaa Diab imagine this world in Flipped, their 2018 animation.
“’What if kids and adults switched roles?’ …We both got drawn to this idea as we realised that the roles inevitably change in real life. It gives us enough room to observe the nature of the relationship between kids and adults, exaggerate and be playful with the situations that can take place in this world.”
