How do theater professionals create artful stage scenery and decorations for plays, musicals, and holiday festivals? In this production department video from People’s Light, a non-profit theater in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Scenic Charge and Props Master Kate Coots demonstrates how to create recycling-filled pumpkins that can be used as decorations autumn after autumn.
The demo was filmed in 2020 in support of their virtual Halloween festivities. Supplies include paper, glue, water, paint, tape, and a plastic bag. People’s Light also provides a seven-step craft tutorial .pdf on their site.
